Endless summer action is in full swing on the Big Island this month with a number of events to choose from on both the Kona and Hilo sides! Make plans to visit Hilo (allow 2.5 hours each way to and from Holualoa Inn)between August 6-8, 2010 to visit the volcano, while leaving time to check out the 58th Annual Hilo Orchid Society Show at Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium. On August 29, 2010 the first annual Lavaman Triathlon & Sports Festival takes place in Keauhou with action beginning at 7 a.m. This Olympic distance triathlon includes a 1.5 mile swim, 40K bike and 10K run.
