The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival

Let us welcome you home this November during the 46th Annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival. Join us from November 4th through November 13th, 2016 for a ten-day celebration of nearly 200 years of Kona Coffee history and of the people who preserve its legacy. Since its inception in 1970, the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival has organized events and activities that allow locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the Kona District’s rich heritage.

Ever since Henry Nicholas Greenwell and his Kona-grown Arabica coffee received the Award for Excellence at the 1873 World’s Fair in Vienna, Austria, Kona Coffee has been renowned worldwide for its superior quality and smooth character. Many local families carry on a coffee farming tradition that has been passed down through four or five generations. The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival was created not only to bring attention to the region’s long history, but also to the people who have worked so hard and with so much pride to produce the coffee which makes the Kona District famous.
